Visa/Residency Documentation

All new students at Georgia State University, including US Citizens, Permanent Residents and International Students must provide documentation of lawful presence in the U.S.

Permanent Residents

  • Provide a copy of both sides of your Green Card to Admissions.

International Students

Transfer Students

  • If you have a current F-1 or J-1 visa, follow the steps to transfer your SEVIS record and request your I-20 or DS-2019 from Georgia State here.

New International Students

  • If you need an F-1 or J-1 visa, follow the steps to request form I-20 or DS-2019 from GSU located here.

Other Non-Immigrant Visa Holders (B-1, B-2, H1-B…)

  • You will need to request a Change of Status to a student visa category or determine if you can enroll in courses less than full-time with visa you have. Please see: Change of Status on the ISSS Policy Page.
