Next Steps for Accepted Dual Enrollment Students

Congratulations on your acceptance to Georgia State University as a Dual Enrollment Student!
Review the steps that will help you through the post-acceptance process.

1.

Complete and submit the Dual Enrollment Permission Form signed by your parent/guardian and your high school guidance counselor.

2.

Accel Students ONLY: Complete the Accel application for funding from the Georgia Student Finance Commission. You must complete the electronic version of the application via the GAcollege411 website. (Exception: Home school students may complete the PDF version.)

3.

Submit AP or IB scores (if applicable). You may be eligible for college credit for most AP exams on which you scored 3 or higher and most higher level IB examinations on which you scored a 5 or better.

4.

Activate your CampusID. Your Panther ID is the nine-digit number located on the bottom of your acceptance letter.

5.

Set up your Georgia State email account. Set this up right away! Remember that Georgia State will send all important emails to your Georgia State email address.

6.

Verify your citizenship and lawful presence. All admitted students who plan to enroll must comply with the Citizenship Verification and Lawful Presence requirements detailed here. Learner’s permits and high school identification cards are not accepted.

7.

Submit required immunization for MMR, Tetanus/Diphtheria, Varicella and Hepatitis B. Fax the completed immunization form to 404-413-1955 prior to class registration. Visit University Health Services for more details and contact information.

8.

Start using the PAWS web portal to access your student records.
a) Schedule math and/or chemistry placement test. Dual Enrollment/MOWR students must take the Math Placement if they plan to take Math 1111 (College Algebra) or higher. To register for test(s), log in to your PAWS account and click on the One Stop Shop tab to select Placement Tests.
b) Check your account for holds before registration. You must remove the Emergency Contact hold on your account before you are able to register. 

9.

Complete and submit the Recreation Center waiver. You only need to complete this step if you plan to use the Recreation Center and will be under the age of 18 at the time of enrollment. This form can be brought to your Incept Orientation or to your advisement session with the Dual Enrollment Academic Advisor.

10.

Plan your transportation and parking. Please note that Dual Enrollment students are not permitted to live on campus. All Georgia State students are allowed to bring vehicles. For more information about parking fees, MARTA and shuttle services, please visit the Parking and Transportation website.

11.

Accel Students: Once you’ve registered for classes, you need to provide a copy of your schedule to your high school guidance counselor so that he/she can complete Part II of the Accel application.
MOWR Students: You must have the MOWR permission form updated by your high school guidance counselor if any changes are made during registration.
