Nontraditional First-Year Applicants
To be a nontraditional first-year student, you must:
- Have been out of high school at least five years and have a high school class that graduated at least five years ago
- Hold a high school diploma from an accredited or approved high school, or have a state-issued high school equivalency certificate or diploma earned through the successful completion of a high school equivalency test approved by the Board of Regents
- Have not attended college.

Postbaccalaureate Applicants
- As a postbaccalaureate applicant, you may take any course offered at the college, once prerequisites have been satisfied.
- You are not eligible for federal or state financial aid, including student loans.
- If you wish to change your student status and become a degree-seeking transfer student at Perimeter College, you must apply for a change of status and meet Perimeter College transfer student admission requirements. In a very limited number of cases, you may also need to provide a high school transcript showing your graduation details.

Transient Applicants
- You are a transient applicant if you are enrolled in another accredited college or university and are applying to Perimeter College for a specified time to take courses as a visiting student.
- You are a transient applicant if you are a non-degree-seeking student at Perimeter College.

Deadlines for Other Student Types for Perimeter College
Perimeter College processes admissions documents and renders admissions decisions on a rolling basis. Your application is valid for three terms of entry, including the term you marked initially on your application and the following two terms of entry. If you wish to be considered for a term of entry within this time, you must complete a Reactivation Application and any required credentials by the document due date for the desired term of entry.

General Admissions Information
GSU-62 Applicants
Requirements
To receive a GSU-62 waiver, you must:

Apply and submit required documentation by the deadline, meet admissions requirements for the selected program of study and be accepted to the program. |

Be 62 years of age or older as of the first week of the semester. |
3
|
Be classified as a Georgia resident in accordance with the Regents’ requirements for residential status. |
Note: If you are a GSU-62 applicant who has received a bachelor’s degree and wish to take undergraduate courses without being admitted to a degree-seeking program, you must complete the postbaccalaureate applicant steps above. If you’re interested in a graduate program, refer to the online information for that program. GSU-62 benefits do not apply to courses offered by the College of Law.
Registration
- To receive a GSU-62 waiver for tuition and fees, you are required to register during late registration on a space-available basis.
- Check the semester calendar for the semester in which you will be registering to determine the first date of late registration.
- You cannot register until the first day of late registration. While you are not responsible for the cost of tuition and mandatory fees, you are responsible for laboratory fees or supplies for language courses, music, science, etc.
- You have the option to opt out of the GSU-62 program if you wish to register prior to late registration. If you opt-out, you will be assessed regular tuition and fees and will not be covered by the waiver. It will be your responsibility to pay tuition and fees by the payment deadline.
- You will be responsible for student fees associated with obtaining a Georgia State CampusID.
Perimeter Admissions Processing Information
Perimeter College will review your record to make an admissions decision after your required documents have been submitted, evaluated and posted to your record. Please allow up to 21 days for a final review of your record once your file becomes complete.

Documents submitted become and remain the property of Perimeter College and will not be returned to you, duplicated or transferred to another institution. Withholding or falsifying your application data or documentation makes it subject to dismissal without refund.

Gathering Documents
- Official regionally accredited high school transcript with date of graduation. Note:
- Your transcript should be official and include your date of graduation from a regionally accredited high school.
- Certificates of Performance or Special Education diplomas are not acceptable.
- Applicants who have not completed high school are required to submit official GED, HiSet, or TASC passing scores and high school transcript.
- Official transcript from each college, university, or technical college attended. Note:
- This applies only to applicants with fewer than 30 transferable credit hours.
- Speak to the registrar at your former institution(s) to send transcripts to Perimeter College.
- You must be eligible to return to the last institution you attended.
