Programs
Georgia State offers Dual Enrollment and Joint Enrollment programs.
Dual enrollment students take college courses that satisfy high school and college credits, and the tuition is funded by the Georgia Student Finance Commission.
One program, two options. At Georgia State, you can join the Dual Enrollment Program through Perimeter College or the Atlanta Campus. Dual enrollment students at Perimeter College can take courses at any of our five Perimeter campuses or online. 1000- and 2000-level courses only are available through Perimeter. Dual enrollment students on the Atlanta Campus only take classes downtown and have a few options for 3000- and 4000-level courses. View Perimeter College’s dual enrollment admissions requirements.
Joint enrollment students take courses that typically earn college credit only, and students are responsible for their own tuition and fees.

Dual Enrollment
The Georgia Student Finance Commission provides tuition and mandatory fees for dual enrollment students enrolled in up to 15 credit hours per semester in courses selected from an approved list.
Other expenses, including lab fees, course supplies, meals, transportation and personal expenses, are the responsibility of the student and his or her parent(s) or guardian(s).
Additional credit hours and classes not on the approved course list must be paid out of pocket. Classes taken from the approved course list do not count against HOPE scholarship hours.
Note: To remain eligible to participate in dual enrollment, students must earn a grade of C or better in all classes — whether covered or paid out of pocket.
Joint Enrollment
Participation in joint enrollment is funded entirely by the student and his or her parent(s) or guardian(s). To view tuition costs, visit Student Financial Services.
- Students will take all coursework at the Atlanta Campus.
- Dual enrollment courses must be selected from the approved course list.
- All schedules are subject to the approval of Georgia State and appropriate high school officials.
- Coursework taken through dual enrollment does not count against HOPE Scholarship or HOPE Grant hours.
Joint enrollment and dual enrollment students may not live in University Housing on campus and must have transportation to class. For more information, visit Parking and Transportation.
The Georgia State University Bookstore loans required textbooks to each dual enrollment student each semester, provided that students return the textbooks to the university at the end of each semester. Read the Textbook Policy form.
