International Student Types
Nontraditional First-Year Students
Nontraditional applicants are required to submit proof of high school graduation from their home country or a U.S. General Education Diploma. Accuplacer Exam results in reading, writing and math must be submitted with your application. If you have not yet taken the Accuplacer Exam, schedule an appointment with the Testing Center.
Students may submit their SAT/ACT scores if they have taken either test in the last seven years, but it is not required.
If you were educated outside of the United States, you will be classified as an international applicant for admissions processing purposes regardless of citizenship or residency status so that our team can review your international credentials. Being processed by the International Team does not affect tuition classification or lawful presence confirmation.

International Postbaccalaureate Students
If you were educated outside of the United States, you will be classified as an international applicant for admissions processing purposes regardless of citizenship or residency status so that our team can review your international credentials. Being processed by the International Team does not affect tuition classification or lawful presence confirmation.
This third-party evaluation must state that you have obtained the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree or higher.
Note: This is different from transfer student evaluations. As a postbaccalaureate student, you do not need to include the descriptions because you do not require a course-by-course evaluation. You only require a document-by-document evaluation.
Many of our applicants have worked with these evaluation companies if you would like to choose one of the following:
Josef Silny
SpanTran
World Education Services (WES)
Education Credential Evaluators (ECE)
A full list of all NACES-approved evaluators can be found at naces.org.
Note: Postbaccalaureate students do not need to submit a course-by-course evaluation showing all their university classes like transfer applicants do. A document-by-document evaluation showing that your degree is the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree is sufficient.
If you have any questions about foreign credential evaluation, please contact International Admissions at [email protected] with your Georgia State Panther ID number and your full name.

International Re-Entry Students
Application Process
- If you are admitted as a re-entry student and do not register for the term for which you applied, you must submit a reactivation application to be able to enroll for one of the two subsequent terms of entry. If you wish to register for a term after this time period has passed, you must submit a new application and fee by the posted deadline.
- If you were on scholastic suspension from Georgia State, you must wait one calendar year before applying as a re-entry student. Please reference the Course Catalog for more information about scholastic suspension.
- If you have been on scholastic exclusion from Georgia State, you must wait five or more years before applying as a re-entry student. Please reference the Course Catalog for more information about scholastic exclusion.
Stipulations
Once the two additional terms of entry have passed, the application and application fee is no longer valid. Students who do not reactivate their application during this allotted time are required to submit a new application, new application fee and any new transcripts (if applicable) to be considered for admission.
