Next Steps for Accepted Dual Enrollment Students

Congratulations on your acceptance to Georgia State University as a Dual Enrollment Student!

Review the steps that will help you through the post-acceptance process.

1. Complete the Dual Enrollment Student Participation Agreement (must be signed by your parent/guardian and your high school counselor). This should be submitted during Dual Enrollment Orientation to register for classes.
2. Complete the online Dual Enrollment funding application through GAFutures.
3. Complete the textbook policy form. This should be submitted during Dual Enrollment Orientation.
4. Complete and submit the Recreation Center waiver. You only need to complete this step if you plan to use the Recreation Center and will be under the age of 18 at the time of enrollment. This form can be brought to your MOWR Orientation or to your advisement session with the Dual Enrollment Academic Advisor.
5. Register for orientation. You will receive an email invite to register for Dual Enrollment orientation, where you will meet with an advisor and register for classes. DO NOT register for Orientation through PAWS.
6. Activate your CampusID. Your Panther ID is the nine-digit number located on the bottom of your acceptance letter.
7. Set up your Georgia State email account. Set this up right away! Remember that Georgia State will send all important emails to your Georgia State email address.
8. Use the PAWS web portal to access your student records.

  1. Schedule math and/or chemistry placement test. Dual Enrollment students must take the Math Placement if they plan to take Math 1111 (College Algebra) or higher. To register for test(s), log in to your PAWS account and click on the Enrollment tab to select Placement Tests.
  2. Check your account for holds before registration. You must remove the Emergency Contact hold on your account before you are able to register.
9. Verify your citizenship and lawful presence for in-state tuition. All admitted students who are seeking in-state tuition must meet the Citizenship Verification and Lawful Presence requirements detailed here. Learner’s permits and high school identification cards are not accepted.
10. Submit required immunization for MMR, Tetanus/Diphtheria, Varicella and Hepatitis B. Fax the completed immunization form to 404-413-1955 prior to class registration. Visit University Health Services for more details and contact information.
11. Submit AP or IB scores (if applicable). You may be eligible for college credit for most AP exams on which you scored 3 or higher and most higher level IB examinations on which you scored a 5 or better.
12. Plan your transportation and parking. Please note that Dual Enrollment students are not permitted to live on campus. All Georgia State students are allowed to bring vehicles. 13. Dual Enrollment Students: Once you’ve registered for classes, you must provide a copy of your schedule to your high school counselor so that he/she can complete Part B of the online application.
