Actuarial Science, B.B.A.

For help with the admissions process, contact your admissions counselor.

Actuaries have been called financial architects and social mathematicians because of their unique blend of analytical and business skills in the insurance and financial services industries. They serve as consultants in firms that specialize in employee benefits and pensions, in the government sector, and in a variety of other roles. To be recognized as a qualified actuary, a person should become a member of the Society of Actuaries or the Casualty Actuarial Society. Membership is obtained by passing a series of examinations. Completion of Robinson’s actuarial science program greatly enhances the possibility of passing those exams.

The tremendous demand for such highly trained people makes this a financially rewarding career.

In order to meet the critical shortage of actuarial personnel in this region, the Southeastern Actuaries Club endorsed the establishment of Robinson’s actuarial program as part of the university’s comprehensive insurance educational activity. The program continues to have the strong support of the actuarial profession and is ranked #3 in actuarial research among North American business schools.

Rankings

Robinson’s Maurice R. Greenberg School of Risk Science ranks third in North America and fourth in the world for research productivity in the five leading actuarial and insurance journals.

Robinson is the ONLY Center of Actuarial Excellence in the Southeast.
